On Tuesday, the Detroit City Council will take up a resolution by Gabriela Santiago-Romero to support a Ceasefire in Gaza. Despite overwhelming community support for a ceasefire, Councilwoman Santiago-Romero has unfortunately faced push back from some of her colleagues asking for weaker language and opposing the term "ceasefire," wanting to call for a humanitarian pause instead.
This Monday we are calling the constituents of the holdouts and asking them to call their city council person, and demand that Detroit stands with Dearborn, Hamtramck, and Ypsilanti in demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. We need your help to win the strongest resolution possible!
