Demand that the Detroit City Council Support a Ceasefire Resolution

Tomorrow, the Detroit city council will consider a resolution calling on the government to call for a ceasefire in Israel’s current violent onslaught on Gaza which has killed over 10,000 Gazans. This comes after a resolution by councilwoman Gabriela Santiago Romero was tabled for not being “neutral” enough. We have since learned that councilors object to using the language ceasefire. Join us as we let the Detroit City Council know that we stand with the residents of Dearborn and Hamtramck who’ve already passed ceasefire resolutions, in demanding an end to this genocide.

Instructions for meeting: Public comment will begin at 10:00am during general discussion. You will have a limited time to raise hand for open comment to get in line for discussion. Use the raise hand feature during this time to get in line, and show your support for Councilwoman Gabriela Santiago Romero’s original resolution in calling for a ceasefire

Join in person at the Coleman Young Municipal Center. 2 Woodward Ave, suite 1340. Zoom link https://detroitmi.gov/Online-CC-Meeting
