Make Government Work For All of Us...Again

A PUBLIC FORUM

MAKE GOVERNMENT WORK FOR ALL OF US … AGAIN”

Free admission. Free parking. Free lunch at 11:30 a.m..

First, we'll remember a time when government helped with such social programs as Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, public education (Head Start, Pell Grants, GI Bill), civil rights (desegregation, right to vote) and social safety nets (food stamps, unemployment insurance).

Then, we'll talk about what government needs to be doing today concerning police violence, living wage for all, student debt, voter suppression, public workers, immigration reform and election finance reform.

The goal of this forum is to kick-off a year-long campaign to provide the ammunition (ideas, historical references, articles, facts, personal stories and talking points) union, community and faith activists can use to motivate people to become more actively engaged in grassroots movements AND political action – a powerful one-two punch for progressive social change.
